Anything that affects handling: fragile, dangerous goods, oversized, tail-lift required, or a site with no forklift.

Practical photograph of a wrapped pallet sitting on a warehouse floor scale, a staff member holding a tape measure up against its height with a clipboard tucked under one arm. Should visually suggest the length, width, height and weight measurements needed for an accurate quote. Bright, clean warehouse light, no branding visible.

Side-by-side photograph on a warehouse bench: a small, dense, strapped carton on one side and a much larger, lightweight bulky box of the same rough weight on the other, both about to go on a pallet scale. Should visually suggest that a light but bulky item can be priced on the space it takes up, not just what it weighs. Clean daylight, uncluttered background.
quote-actual-vs-cubic-weight.jpg · alt: "A compact heavy carton next to a larger lightweight box, illustrating cubic versus actual weight"How Freight Pricing Works
Freight is charged on the greater of its actual weight or its cubic (dimensional) weight, so a light but bulky load is priced on the space it takes, not just the scales. On top of that sit the lane and any handling needs (a tail-lift delivery to a site with no forklift costs more than dock-to-dock). We spell out the basis of your price, so the quote is the quote.

Prefer to Talk It Through?
Some freight is easier to quote in a two-minute call, especially dangerous goods, oversized or heavy loads, or a regular run you want set up as a scheduled service. Call 1300 019 947 or contact us.
Bottom line: Accurate weights and dimensions get you an accurate price first time, so send them with your enquiry and skip the back-and-forth.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does interstate freight cost?
It depends on the lane, the weight and dimensions (priced on the greater of actual or cubic weight), how urgent it is, and any special handling. Send your load details for an exact interstate freight quote rather than a ballpark that changes on the invoice.
How quickly will I get my quote?
For standard palletised or general freight with complete details, quickly. Complex loads, such as dangerous goods, oversized items or multi-leg runs, may take a short review, and we'll tell you if so.
Do I need an account to get a quote?
No. You can request a one-off quote without an account. Moving freight regularly? Ask about a scheduled freight arrangement.
What information do you need to quote accurately?
Pick-up and delivery postcodes, what you're sending, weight and dimensions, your deadline, and any handling requirements. The checklist above covers it.
